Liposuction (Fat Removal Surgery)
Liposuction is one of the most widely performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the world, offering a reliable solution for removing stubborn, localized fat deposits that resist diet and exercise. At Dr Amit Aesthetics in Aligarh, Dr. Amit Agrawal performs liposuction using advanced techniques that allow for precise fat removal, smooth contouring, and minimal downtime. It is important to understand that liposuction is a body-sculpting procedure — not a weight loss solution — and works best for patients who are at or near a healthy weight with specific areas of disproportionate fat.

Overview
Liposuction is one of the most widely performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the world, offering a reliable solution for removing stubborn, localized fat deposits that resist diet and exercise. At Dr Amit Aesthetics in Aligarh, Dr. Amit Agrawal performs liposuction using advanced techniques that allow for precise fat removal, smooth contouring, and minimal downtime. It is important to understand that liposuction is a body-sculpting procedure — not a weight loss solution — and works best for patients who are at or near a healthy weight with specific areas of disproportionate fat.
The procedure involves making tiny incisions (3–4mm) through which a thin cannula is inserted to break up and suction out fat cells. The average amount of fat removed in a single session is less than 4 kilograms to ensure patient safety. Liposuction can be applied to virtually any area of the body where localized fat accumulates, including the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs, hips, upper arms, chin and neck, back, and male chest (pseudogynecomastia).
Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are in good overall health, have firm and elastic skin, and have realistic expectations. The removed fat cells do not regenerate, making the results essentially permanent — provided the patient maintains a stable weight. However, it is worth noting that older patients or those with reduced skin elasticity may not achieve the same skin retraction as younger patients and may benefit from combining liposuction with skin-tightening procedures for optimal results.

Recovery & aftercare
Compression garments are worn over the treated areas for 4–6 weeks. Mild to moderate soreness, swelling, and bruising are expected for the first 1–2 weeks. Most patients return to desk work within 3–5 days and resume light exercise at 2 weeks. Strenuous activity can be resumed at 4–6 weeks. Swelling diminishes gradually over 2–3 months. Final body contouring results are typically visible at 3–6 months as residual swelling fully resolves and the skin retracts around the new contours.
